The «Mur 1»
fragment of the Dead Sea Scrolls, containing the final part of Chapter 32 of
the Book of Genesis, mentions ligamentum capitis femoris (LCF). We have translated
the reconstructed text from the 2nd century CE, published by Benoit P. et al.
(1961). The English translation is available at:

fragment: «Leather of medium thickness, well finished, light suede color;
smooth surface, lightly embossed spine. Horizontal and vertical drypoint lines
are quite fine. … The literary script is of an ornamental type, well
calibrated, dating to the beginning of the 2nd century CE. … The biblical text
preserved on the fragments is completely identical to the Textus Receptus
established at the end of the 1st century CE.» (1961BenoitP_DeVauxR:75). (Fair

Regarding
the dating of the scroll fragment, it is noted: «The tears are old and possibly
caused by the military actions of Roman soldiers in 135 AD, during the capture
of a partisan refuge in the Murabbat caves» (1961BenoitP_DeVauxR:75).
