Model & Prosthesis

The introduction of a ligamentum capitis femoris analogue into the endoprosthesis will ensure uniform wear and will prevent dislocation.

THE ROLE OF THE HIP JOINT LIGAMENTS

The role of the hip joint ligaments Ligaments tighten when the pelvis tilts, support the body, and correct the movement of the center of mass. A horizontal position of the pelvis in a single-leg stance and during walking is pathological. SINGLE SUPPORT PHASE

Ligaments of the hip joint during the single support phase of walking. When walking, the reaction forces of the hip joint ligaments offloads the muscles and the femoral head, rotates and stabilizes the pelvis. ACTIVITY OF M. GLUTEUS MEDIUS DURING WALKING

Activity of m. gluteus medius during walking Why does m. gluteus medius activity decrease when walking? Preliminary analysis of experimental material: https://kruglayasvyazka.blogspot.com/2024/07/lcf_12.html https://kruglayasvyazka.blogspot.com/2024/07/lcf_10.html Publication in the facebook group 05/17/2025.     BLOG CONTENT NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FACEBOOK

What is more important?

What is more important? What is more important, m. gluteus medius or ligamentum capitis femoris? See the paradox in the experiment and its analysis: https://kruglayasvyazka.blogspot.com/2024/07/lcf_9.html https://kruglayasvyazka.blogspot.com/2024/07/lcf_10.html Publication in the facebook group 05/15/2025. My comment on the view on LCF as a shock absorber: The elastic modulus of rubber is 5-9 MPa, polyethylene film (LDPE) 10-90 MPa.  The elastic modulus of tendon is 160 MPa ( Федорова ВН , Фаустов ЕВ , 2008). The elastic modulus of LCF under tension reaches 252.8±23.0 MPa (Gao F, Yang Y, Ma H, 2008). Mechanical properties show that under load along the fibrils, this structure is not elastic enough. In my opinion, LCF acts not as a spring, but as a low-stretch cord.     BLOG CONTENT NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FACEBOOK

WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO RECONSTRUCT LCF?

Are you repairing the acetabular labrum without reconstructing the ligamentum capitis femoris (ligamentum teres)? Then expect pain, osteoarthritis, contractures, lameness, and hyperlordosis. The Ligament of the Femoral Head: Function and Role in the Pathogenesis of Coxarthrosis . 2023. [Rus]   Abstract In the research clinically and roentgenologically patients with coxarthrosis and a control group of persons. It is studied pathomorphology of the hip joint and change of the ligamentum capitis femoris at operation performance total hip arthroplasty at coxarthrosis and fracture of the neck of the femur without signs coxarthrosis. The biomechanics of the hip joint was studied on mechanical models, the biomechanics of the ligamentum capitis femoris function was clarified during walking and in an upright position in the norm and with damage to this ligament. The aim of this study was to use finite element analysis to assess LT stress during hip movements, which included external rotation with flexion. A 3D model of the hip joint, including the femoral hea...
