355-363Oribasius

Fragment from the treatise Oribasius Medical Collections (Οριβάσιου. Ἰατρικαὶ Συναγωγαί; Oribasius. Collectiones medicae, ca. 355-363 [our opinion]). The author writes about the high strength and role of ligamentum capitis femoris (LCF) quoting Galen of Pergamon (De Ossibus ad Tirones; On Bones for Beginners). There is a socket of large size in each of the ischia, attached by a very stout ligament (σύνδεσμος) to the head of the femur. (original source: 2020ArkhipovSV_ProlyginaIV).
