Fragments from the book Pollux J. Iuliu Polydeukus Onomasticum Graece & Latine (1706). In Greek, the author refers to ligamentum capitis femoris (LCF) as "νεῦρον" and also points out the synonym "ἰσχίον". This term was used by Rufus of Ephesus (2020ArkhipovSV_ProlyginaIV). The fragment of the Onomasticum dealing with the LCF was quoted by Giovanni Filippo Ingrassia (1603IngrassiaeIP).

Nervus etiam coxam femori colligans, ἰσχίον dicitur. codemque nomine, & ipse articulus nominatur. Os vero volubile coxendici conjundum, femoris caput appellatur.

Translation

[Eng]

The sinew connecting the pelvis to the thigh is called ἰσχίον. The joint is named by the same name, but the rotating bone connected to the pelvis is called the femoral head.

Homo ergaster

  HOMO ERGASTER The Homo ergaster species lived in Africa 1.8 million years ago and was alive until 600,000 years ago, likely becoming the ancestor of Homo erectus in Asia, Homo neanderthalensis in Europe, and Homo sapiens in Africa (1995CachelS_HarrisJ; 2005KleinR).
