1957SingerC

Fragment from the book Singer C. A Short History of Anatomy from the Greeks to Harvey (1957). The author writes about Hegetor, who discussed the connective function, attachment sites, and injuries of the ligamentum capitis femoris (LCF) in hip dislocation. See our commentary at the link: 1957SingerC [Rus].

Quote. p. 33.

Of the later Alexandrian medical writers we know little. Of one, Hegetor, however, who lived about 130 B.c., we have a fragment from which we learn that he knew of the ligamentum teres of the hip joint.
