The Torah goes on with a report of the consequences of
this encounter by writing «על כן לא יאכלו בני ישראל את '''גיד הנשה''' אשר על כף
הירך», “this is why the children of Israel are not to eat the displaced sinew
of the hip-socket”… The meaning of the word “eat” here does not only mean the
actual consumption of this part of animalistic tissue but also what it
